I'd like to hear what other moms are doing when their toddlers throw fits.

My son throws fits too. He bangs his head off of things, hits himself, throws himself to the ground. Unfortunately the only thing that seems to work for us, is to completely ignore him, don't respond, don't even make eye contact, leave the room if you can. Of course if he is like my son, he will follow you and his screams will get louder and louder, but eventually he will calm down and my son will then come up to me and will want me to hold him. Now before I ignore him, I do try to calm him down, ask him if he wants anything. Normally he throws fits if he asks for something and I don't give it to him. But sometimes I will distract him too. Like his favorite movie is Bolt, so I'll say "No we can't do that, but do you want to watch Bolt?" and normally he will say yes and then all will be fine.
