from two naps to one...

I have a fourteen month old son who has decided he doesn't want to take two naps a day anymore. He only sleeps through the afternoon nap and for his morning one he usually screams until I get him. I don't care that he is only napping once a day but I have found that he is cranky and I need some tips on either getting him some quiet time alone or getting his one nap to be a little longer so he is less cranky.. any advice would be great Thank you!

Make sure he's tired enough. I know that when my daughter was that age, if she wasn't tired enough, she didn't want to sleep long, and then like you said, she was cranky later on. Also you could try pushing off the nap a little later to make sure he's more tired. My daughter is 2 now and will often tell us when she's ready for a nap. She never stops moving most of the day so she's good and tired at nap and bedtime.

We would go on errands or go to the park and even having a snack may help.

Well that's what i am dealing with right now.. he goes to sleep ant 1 to 2 in the morning.. not happening.. what i do is that i would give him a nice well if you want him to sleep longer what i do is give him a nice warm bath let him play in there until he wants to get out.... and then i give him a nice warm bottle wen he gets out, i put some nice classical music and then he would fall asleep.. if you want to get him some quiet time.. take him out for a walk that should calm him down it works for me they like to see new things out there hope fully i had help u
