My 4 yr old does not like going to bed. I know that it is affecting him at preschool and at home. I have tried many different things and am looking for some new suggestions.

Does he sit quietly while the older ones are reading or does he have a carry on - if he doesn't sit quietly then he may be getting over excited. Do you or daddy sit with him as the older ones are reading because it may be just an attention thing? Other than those, the other thing to try would be sitting in the room with him. You sit at the door with your back to him and try as hard as you can not to engage in conversation with him. Just say good night, or time to go to sleep. This method does take a while but eventually you can move outside the room, then maybe to the top of the stairs, then further. But it does work and all the effort is worth it in the end when you've got a child sleeping in their bed every night.

Hope this has been of some help, Good luck Gx

We do have a routine. We have dinner, bath, brush teeth, and then it's quite time. I have five children so the two older ones that read will take turns reading a book to everyone, then it's lights out. He does not stay. It takes about three hours. It's exhausting.
