I know this won't help you now, they're a bit old, but in the future it's a good idea to keep in mind. My sister did this with her two and I followed suit with my son, works every time. Only give your baby formula in the bottle. If they want water, juice, anything else to drink, give it to them in a sippy or a cup. That way they equate formula with the bottle and the better tasting liquid with a cup. I never had a problem breaking my son from the bottle, as soon as he was done with formula he switched to the cup naturally. Like I said, I know it's a bit late in your circumstance to help, but if you have children in the future... it works like a charm :) Because I did it this way I really wouldn't know how to go about breaking them of the bottle, sorry. I do wish you the best of luck no matter how you break them of the bottle.

have them dispose of all the bottles make it a game. then that's it no more bottle. and at night i still give my daughter a sippy cup in the crib to go to bed with but she hasnt had a bottle since she was 10 months old. You have to do tough love on this one or nothing will work. If they cry pick back up the sippy cup and give it to them and walk out of the room. they probaly still want it so they can sooth themselves to sleep. so this will be hard on you because you are breaking two habits at once. dont back down or you start all over from square one. just decide what night is good to start and that's it no more bottles for the twins.

I started giving my kids a sippy cup instead of a bottle and I had them both weaned by the time they were 1 year. How often do you give them bottles? Do they use sippy cups? Do they use a binky? The pacifier might help but then you have to break them of that too.
