My 23month old keeps on getting out of his bed and sleeping on the floor at night. Is this bad? How can I make him sleep in his bed?

The bed does have a railing around it. He still goes on the floor. Thankyou for responding

Have you tried getting a rail for the bed? My son would fall out of his toddler bed and end up sleeping happily on the floor we've only recently done the change from crib to toddler bed, so we got a side Rail to stop this and now he stay's in bed till he wakes up, then he gets up an plays with his toys for a bit.

Maybe its a reaction to being in the toddler bed? Was he in a crib before or your bed? He may just miss being in bed with mommy or being in his crib. but like I said before my 3 yr old only does it when he feels crowded, hopefully other moms reply who have experienced this. Im curious to hear other opinions.

Is he in a different room??? My son will do this if he is in bed with me or on the couch, it is like he wakes up and for some reason goes on the floor and sleeps? He however doesnt do it when he is in his own bed.

I wouldnt say its bad, I would maybe bring it up to his Dr. He may just be waking up and going on the floor maybe not purposely? Or even he feels confined? That is why my son doe sthat when he is in bed with me he likes all his space he can get, he doenst like feeling confined or in a small place/crowded .

Another thing is its very common for children ages 2 to 5 to start having night terrors, I doubt it is night terrors if he isnt screaming and or crying but its possible he is having bad dream or even sleep walking. You could google this also.
