My son is only 2, but he's a tall 2 year old. Almost as tall as my 4 year old niece (my husband is about 6 feet tall). When am I supposed to switch him from the convertible car seat to a booster seat w/a back?? My son won't have his 2 year appt until we get back to HI, so I'm not sure exactly how tall he is, but he's at least 37-38" tall.

I don't know what the regulations for that are where you live, but where I am they have to be a certain height and 40lbs before they are allowed to be moved to a booster.

I wouldn't even consider a high back booster without a harness until he's at least 6 years old. At 2 I would actually still have him rear facing in an appropriate seat. If he's getting too tall for his current seat there are a lot of seats on the market that can keep him in a 5 point harness up to 80 lbs. Personally we just turned my almost 4 year old forward facing and she won't be in a booster with a back until she's at least 8-10 years old.

Thanks, Chelsey! I think I still have a little time before he's 40" tall :)
