grinding teeth

My daughter now has two front teeth on the bottom and the top & she grinds her teeth. I was wondering if any one knows how to stop a child from grinding her teeth so she doesn't have any problem with her teeth?

my daughter did so as well, especially when they 1st started coming in at 4 months... she liked the sound, sensation, and newness,,, my doctor told me it was nothing to worry about... i personally didn't like the sound... i would give her kisses or rub my finger across her teeth (distractions) and tell her"no grinding"... it wasn't long before she stopped. every now and again at almost 2 she will do it and quickly come up to me and give me kisses or rub my teeth and say "i know mama no grinding".

Does she grind them when she is awake or sleeping? My son did the same thing but only when he was awake. I think they must be fascinated with their teeth and it takes them a while to get use to the fact that they have them. He outgrew doing it. Talk to a dentist if she has all of her teeth and still does it as a toddler.
