Has anyone's little darlings had fever blisters?

My little man (19 months) woke up yesterday with a temp of 102.9, and would not eat anything. Being a first time mom, I kind of freaked out & took him to the doctor. The doc said he had fever blisters in the back of his mouth & a viral infection. He gave him 2 kinds of medicine. One to treat the viral infection (which, upon reading the pamphlet that came with it, states that it is used to treat herpes) and a medicine to numb his mouth so he can eat. I am kind of, really freaking out. I am going to attempt to call his doctors office tomorrow to see why he gave him that medicine in particular.

Has anyones little darlings had fever blisters or viral infections? My sons pediatrician said there was something going around.

There are a lot of medicines out there with multiple purposes. I wouldn't worry about what he gave you to help it but you could always research it online before calling him.
