My daughter failed her hearing test in one ear at birth. Then just this last November (she was then 22 months old) they retested her, and she not only failed again, but she failed in the ear that she had passed at birth. To me, she seems to hear ok. She's now 2 and she likes to repeat what I say. Has anyone else had any problems with the hearing tests their children have had?? What were the results

What type of hearing test was it?? My daughter failed the one at birth in one ear. A few mouths later we had her re-tested in an hour long test wich she had to be in a natral state of sleep. She ended up failing in both ears. One was worse then the other. We would have never guessed that there was anything wrong. She could hear. We knew she could hear. She was diagnosed with a severe hearing loss in both ears. She can hear most things, just not high tones.

Keep going back for more test untill you find out if there is a problem. If there is a problem you want to get it fixed befor it effects her speach.

My friends are deaf and just had a baby. They told me sometimes deaf children will pass the hearing test then later will see they are deaf. So, I guess the tests aren't that great! As long as she is talking normally and repeats you she is probably fine!

Sometimes they fail hearing tests becaues they have fluid in their ears. Has she been checked for this. They can still hear but not as well. They answer is tubes which not bad at all.
