My daughter will be 15 months old soon and we've been going through this phase since she was 9 months old, seems right when she started to walk, she started the tantrums. I think it was an independance thing and a developmental thing.

Now that she's almost 15 months old she's kind've grown out of them. She still has a few...but not NEARLY as many as she used to or as severe.

Generally when she acts like this...I just ignore her.

However, we have been working with her on how to show she is angry without a tantrum (something new we're trying that I learned at a parenting class that's offered in my town) You basically just teach them how to display their emotions in an acceptable way (partially by example). We'll see if it works!

oh my middle son started early, my oldest didnt really seem to go through it though. He wasnt bad at all, but my middle son, is very whiney and he always wants his own way and he screams if he doesnt get it too. So i think that every kid is different there is no real way to tell when it will come, just somewhere around two. lol. i can tell with my two that every kid is different and you will never know when different stages will hit! I hope all goes well! it does get better though!

Hi! I read in a Parents magazine that the middle years are the worst. Like a year and a half, two and a half and so on. It also says that when they turn 2, 3, 4 and so on they seem to calm down. So try to look forward to when she turns 2. LOL!

My daughter started 'terrible twos' early, but stopped a couple of months after her birthday - it is a developmental thing not really an age thing, but prepare yourself, the terrible three's are far worse!!!! :}
