hello everyone. i have a boy who is 1 yr 3 months old. he loves books but sometimes when he's looking at a book he just turns it upside down. i would like to know if this is part of his growth or if there may be any problems? Thanks

I made a game out of it. When my son turned the book upside down, I would say, "Elmo is upside down. Can you fix him?" I think this helped him learn the concept.

Thanks to all of you - at least I can put my mind at rest. In fact I always turn the book the right way up but soon after he turns it upside down again. Thanks again

It is normal...they are experimenting and will figure it out...just put it back the right way and show them the words with your fingers as you read....it works...my daughter did the same thing...and is reading before Kindergarden....]

Yes, my son did the same thing when he was younger & he is now 2 1/2 & fine. Sometimes he still does it, but figures out it is upside down now & turns it around! I wouldn't worry about it =)

My child is the same age and does the same thing. Actually all my children did that and I seem to think it is just their way of figuring out how to look at the book. Does it look better this way or that way? You have nothing to worry about it is perfectly normal!!!
