HELP!!! Almost 4 and still needs to have a pull up on at night

[deleted account] ( 4 moms have responded )

I don't know what to do all day my lil lady is fine with the potty and then night time hits and without the pull up on she wets the bed? I try to get her to pee before bed but nothing seems to work i don't want her to be the only one starting school who needs to be in diapers at night!
Can anyone help?

Yes dont worry about your three year old. My son is 8! And he still wears pull ups to bed at night. The doctor said hes giving him alittle more time to grow out of it but apparently its not unusual for this to happen. Many children dont grow out of it before 10 years old. My fiance said he was about 10 before he stopped wetting the bed. My son hates wearing pullups and is very embarrassed about it but he knows he has to so hopefully sooner than later it;ll stop because its frustrating for him and me because of his age! So dont panic your little one is only 3

My little guy still wears pullups to bed and I am not worried. Some children are just sound sleepers. My oldest son has a friend in grade one that has to wear the "goodnight" underwear to bed and he is 6. Some kids just have a weak bladder or sleep too soundly to wake up. When she is ready she will do it until then I would not make a big deal out of it. I just tell my son they are his bedtime underwear and he is fine with that. I have also hear that this situation is more common in girls for some reason which might explain why your daugher is still having trouble. Have you talked to your doctor about it? I am sure she will outgrow it eventually.

Thanks for the tip i have already cut her drinks in half and try to have her go just before bed but unfourtunatly for me my lil one is the satin when it comes to sleep if i were to wake her for a pee before i go to bed she would never go back to sleep! lol so i guess i have 2 problems my kid wets the bed at night and is the anti christ of sleep!

When she was 2.5 i took her to the doctor and our family doc pretty much told me i was a bad parent and gave me a card for parenting classes because she was still in pull ups during the day! I think i must have cried for a month thinking i was a bad parent so i really don't want to take her back to the dr so once again i can be called bad parent! Those words haunt me to this day! I just want to be a good mommy

Hi. I had the same problem.  My doctor said they don't start to worry about it till Kindergarten and then they start looking at it medically.  I found that NO drinks after dinner and only a half of a cup then, works.  I started by having her potty before bed and then wake her up before I go to bed and potty again.  I also read in an article that a spoonful of honey before bed helps too.  I had a friend try this and it worked, however, she stopped because she didn't want to do honey forever.
