My daughter is 26mth old, quite adaptable and mature for her age. When we move in 2 weeks, we think we should replace her cot with a bed. we hope she'll adapt quickly and hope she likes the change, but is it too sudden?

personally, i wouldn't. the move will be stressful enough. new room to get used to...and add to that a new bed? seems like alot all at once.

If your daughter adapts well to new situations then I think it should be fine. Our son ended up sleeping with us for a few weeks after we moved. A part broke on his crib during the move and my husband couldn't fix it without ordering a new part from the company. I had a blow up mattress on the floor next to our bed so there was a place to move him in the middle of the night (if we had to). Then we decided to buy him a big boy bed instead of fixing the crib so we worked very quickly to decorate his bedroom and took him shopping to pick out his new bed. He was so excited to sleep in it and transitioned very well. Good luck.
