I have no idea where to start! I need help on how to get my 2 year old potty trained..I have a potty for her and she occasionally(when running around naked) brings it over and does a wee in it-which we all make a massive fuss about to try and encourage her..but how do you make the leap from them wearing nappies to big girl knickers?? Or from wearing nappies in bed to not wearing them??

Any advise appreciated!

You make it sound so easy!  I will defintaely try the chart idea-although I am not sure she will understand..but will try!

I think its just about me making the change...I should just do it!

Thanks for your advice.

As soon as my daughter started showing an interest I made a chart that she could put stickers on and eventually earn rewards for. At the end of every line I told her she would get a present. I also gave her a small piece of special chocolate every time she went on the potty. Then I put her in pull-ups, the ones that fade when wet. They had carebears on the front and she loved them and loved how excited I was when she "kept her paws". Once she was doing well with going on the potty I exchanged her pull ups for big girl panties that she picked out herself with her favorite characters on the front. I still put her in pull ups for a couple more weeks just at bedtime and encouraged her to keep them dry throughout the night. Once I saw that she was doing that consistently I put her in underwear for bedtime. She has had some accidents, as all kids will, but I then made a "no accidents" chart that she again fills up with stickers until she gets her present at the end. It's just a lot of consistency and if grandparents are watching the kids they absolutely have to be on board as well! I can't tell you how many times she went to the grandparents wearing underwear and came back wearing a diaper. You have to make sure they are following through with the potty training too or anyone that's watching your kid(s). Hope that helps!
