Well my daughter at 12 months used to wakeup with night terrors or just because...I refuse to bring her to bed with us which was hard b/c I knew she would get use to it and it would be a harder habit to break later. So, with  some research I would not pick her up when she woke up and I would comfort her ( touch her hair etc ) while she was still in the crib and lay her back down and tell her a couple of times its bedtime. If she still wants to stand up (screaming of course) I would sit in the door way with my head down...she would scream, then get tired, sit down, then lay down and peek up to make sure I was still there. This lasted for an hour and half the 1st night, but got better each time. Once she fell asleep I would go back to bed and do the same thing again until she realize I wasn't going to bring her to bed with me. Now I 'm happy to say she sleeps through the night and when she does wake up, i don't rush in, I wait and she usually falls back to sleep. If does wake up for a long time, I make sure she is okay and do the same thing I 've done before. The key is not to give in even though it was one of the hardest things I had to do. I hope that helps...Good luck! :)

I wish I had some advise, but my 2 1/2 year old is doing the same thing.  I am beginning to think she is having night terrors.  She goes down fine, but wakes up screaming and ends up in our bedroom.

Sorry, no advice just sympathy. My son and I are so here with you all. I'm trying to trust that he'll get there when he's ready, but that's hard to hold onto when it's son is 15 mo.

That is where I am at currently... she wakes up around 3 or 4 in the morning and that a complete melt down if we try to take her back to her bed...We will fight about it for an hour then she ends up in my bed. I would like some suggestions a well
