Help! My 3 year old still sleeps in the same bed as me. How can I break this?

This happened with my eldest when he was 2. He wanted to sleep with us because he was scared. We put a mattress on the floor of our room and he slept there for a couple of months and than made the transition to his own bed by himself. Even if he woke through the night and came in just wanting to be close to us he knew that was his little area. We also made "Monster Spray" which is just a spray bottle with a few drops of lavender oil in water. We let him be in charge of spraying it around his room. It worked for us!

Take him to bed when he gets up take him right back continue doing this as many times as needed remember kids are very smart and we as mothers seem to give in easily for many reasons thinking it's easier if we just give in but this does work my daughters are now 39@35 one wanted to be in bed with me and the other just wouldn't go to bed would continue coming down stairs and boy did I get a workout hope this is helpful

The same thing happened with my son. Just make her sleep in her own bed. She may cry for the first couple of nights. But the first night lay down with her in her bed and leave when she goes to sleep, and then leave the next night right before she falls asleep. It will eventually work. She'll realize oh mommy doesn't always have to sleep with me. It will work. =)
