Help... pleeease. How to get my weenies to sleep

Hi all you yummy mummies.
I am in need of some help please and advice.
I have a 3 1/2 year old girl and a 1 1/2 boy and currently they are sharing a room until we sell and buy a new house.
It is becoming a nightmare at night time.
We put the boy down at 6 then at 7 we put the girl down. She wakes the boy up and they spend the next hour - half shouting, screaming, jumping, generally making as much noise as possible.
Not sure what to do. We have shouted at them, talked reasonably with them, been calm, etc.
We have tried putting our daughter in our bed until they are both asleep which seems to be the best option but she messes about with mine and husbands things in our room. All my craft things are in our room and she messes about with it.
We collect her when she is asleep only to find bits and bobs all in our bed.
Last night they both didnt sleep until 9. Which is when i went to bed.
We didnt have any child free quiet time.
Ugh, actually finding this all so stressful.
Any suggestions welcome please.
From a very worn out Mummy.

That seems too early to me. I would do dinner, baths reading and/or quiet playtime and then around 8 or so put them both to bed and make up a special sleepy time story. my son likes to fall asleep on the sofa while I make up his nighttime story. I let him crash there and then about a half hour after he falls asleep I move him to his room. In general I would say that you 3 1/2 year old could use 10 or so hours of sleep and maybe a little more for the younger one. As far as child free quiet time in our house that is usually after 9PM...its just the way it goes.

I would say depending on what time you all get up in the morning they may not be tired enough at 6 and 7 o'clock... or at least your girl isnt tired enough to just lay down and go to sleep. i have the same problem with my kids... twins... but we put the boy in our room until they are both sleeping... we dont have stuff he can get into though so that works for us.... what about maybe putting your baby in your room instead in a pack n play or something, just until the girl is asleep..... Good luck
