My son has been having loose poops upwards of 6 times a day, sometimes watery. This has been going on for almost 2 weeks, he is eating, drinking and playing just fine and has not had a fever. The doctor says its just a virus, but I'm not convinced. Anyone else's kids had this problem and is there anything he should possibly be tested for? Should I be freaked or not?
Thanks

I went through the exact same thing with my son. Doctor said it was probably his two year molars, and that it could go on for three weeks, longer than that and we should get back in touch. We faithfully followed the BRATS diet, which helped, but it was two weeks of TONS OF POOP. But it was just like they said, a couple weeks, he was fine other than that, and keep putting on the original A & D ointment, it's the best barrier, all the other cream stuff comes right off.

My son had similar symptoms when he was about 20 months old. No fever or anything. Doctors weren't concerned and said it was probably a virus just like they told you. It went away. Try feeding him rice, bananas, toast and applesauce to help bind him up a little more. They said he might be cutting a molar. I never found one. You can also collect the poop and have your doctor's lab analyze it. That's what I did. It was kind of a pain but everything showed up normal for him. Good luck.
