How can you get your child to eat their vegertables?

By offering them each meal with things that they do like.
When making things like pasta, mash them up and add them to the sauce.
For older children offering cheese sauce to pour over them and eat and with raw vegetables giving them low calorie salad dressing for a dip.
No they won't always eat them, but then encourage the fruit on those days.
We have a rule here where you have to take a bite of everything offered to you and after that if you don't like it you don't have to eat it, BUT if you refuse to eat your whole dinner there is no making of a different meal.

Disguise and fun! Disguise vegetables in pastas by gratting them. Carrots, courgettes, sweet potato, parsnips are all sweet vegetables that can not be detected in sauces. I also add these to mince and gravy to make shepherds pies. Also try fun play with food. Make pictures with food like funny faces, make pizzas with peppers and tomatoes, mozarrella and olives. If food looks appetising then children will give it a try!
