Oh yes! But if your baby is happy with milk and picking up weight I would not mess with the diet. If your baby does not want the bottle or the breast you can start giving your baby rice cereal and then after a month start with butternut, sweet potato ect.....

I do not suggest giving a 3 month old table food. Actually table food is not good for their tummy and there are some great baby foods that are babies first at 4 months old. I fed Aiden organic baby food called Earth's Best babies first food. I would not give the baby much just a few spoon fulls mixed with a little cereal and formula or breastmilk. Be careful of more gas or constipation. I do think you should ask your doctor first just to be safe. Good luck!

The WHO recommends only breastmilk or formula until 6 months. I offered my baby table food (soft finger foods like steamed carrot sticks) from 6 months, never used jars or mush.

Why do you want to start early? Do you have concerns?

I would wait a little longer. I started my son on rice cereal at 4 months, from there I started him with the jarred baby food. at around 5 and 1/2 months, then at around 8 months I started tapering in regular table foods like bananas, cherioes, mac and cheese and kept going from there. You could ask your paediatrician for his/her opinion on the matter. I think they usually recommend what I feel to be a little long to start the regular foods. Mine recommended I start rice cereal at 6 months which I felt he needed more than just formula before that. But it might give you an idea of when to start giving your baby some solids.
