Let's see. I'm 32 and I'm still prone to tantrums! My oldest is 6 and his tantrums are so much better than they used to be. It get's better. Being able to express themselves in words always helps.

Hi all thank you so much for your responses they make it seem a litlle easier knowing that we are not alone (do get the feeling sometimes that mine is the only 1!!!) I will admit I find it very hard  not to shout when I come home from work and shes got 1 on her.

she will have them as long as you let her have them my daughter will be 2 in may and she started throwing tantrums back last month but we nipped it in the butt by disciplining and never giving in to her, my sisters baby is 3 and she is still throwing temper tantrums because her mom gives in from time to time

My son is now 2 he throws tantrums every once in a while but knows we do not do that. You really have to have discipline and tolerance. He used to do it all the time, and i may sound a little mean but when he did he went in the "naughty spot" that's how i got the tantrums under control. and if he does have a tantrum now he is ignored and doesn't get anything. And he will say sorry afterwards. You just have to be able to tell them no, we don't throw tantrums to get what we want. When you want something you need to ask. My son just learned "May i please have.... " try it out it really does work if you want your her to respect you. It may sound crazy because their so young but it will pay off my son has very good manners already and he turned 2 in august.

Yea I have a 4 year old and he is 10 times better now but still has some occasionally.  Sorry but you have quite a while before they go away.  My 2 year old is in full swing.  Compared to him the 4 year old is an angel.  Be patient it will eventually get better.

Tantrums are the best! My son will be 4 in June and he still has them pretty regularly. The only good part is that they dont last nearly as long. I have been very good about being strong and not letting him "win". So we went from 45 min of screaming when he was 2 to only about 5 min or so and he realizes its not going to get him anywhere....
