How do I deal with Monsters?

Out of no where my 2 year old said monsters are coming. We played around and growled and he went from a big smile to tears and fear. How do I make him feel safe. He wakes up from nightmares often, screaming at the top of his lungs scared to death. How do I help him.

You could do a simple "monster repellent spell" lol. For instance you could take some coloured sand (or glitter, or a nice smelling spray etc, ) and sprinkle it all around the perimeter of his room, under his bed, in his closet. Make up a little poem (this is the "spell" part) or say something along the lines of "Monsters beware, you are not welcome here anymore" (you could also add something like "angels are watching over this room", if you believe in angels, or if you have a dead relative "grandpa is watching over this room") You could turn it into a weekly routine (or nightly if need be) Two year old's have very active imaginations and sometimes just telling them that something isn't there/doesn't exist won't be enough to make him feel better. This way he is helping to DO something about it ^_^ Good luck!

If you believe in God and teach your son about Him get the Veggie Tales movie 'God is Bigger than the Boogie Man'. That helped my kids when they were going through that stage.
