how do i get my 4 month old out of sucking her thumb. she refuses her paci.

It's a natural reflex. Thats how babies soothe themselves. Probably not much you can do about it until she is several years old. My 9mo old daughter sucks her thumb frequently throughout the day. I find that it comes in very handy when she's cranky or sleepy. Thats how she puts herself to sleep most of the time.

I agree with Jessica. My 3 yr. old still sucks her thumb to go to sleep or when she's exceptionally tired. I figure that it isn't a problem as yet. I have discussed with her that when she gets a little older, she will have to stop doing it, but at 4 mos. old just let her go. She's not hurting anything.
