Hello all,

My son will not try new foods - any suggestions?

We have taken out all the "snack foods" ??

I take my son shoppnig with me. I give him the option of picking out vegetables and fruits. I also name them funny things like broccoli trees and rolly polly meatballs. I think he must think I am truly nuts. I'm all for trying to get them to eat new things and the more control you give them (options) the easier it seems. However, I am hide nutritious foods as well. My son loves pasta with lots of cheese and sauce. Before I cook the sauce I use a food processor and add in veggies etc. He doesn't have a clue. We also make smoothies with fresh fruits (frozen work fine) and I use the same juice and freeze it for popsicles.

Sometimes its the texture of the food that freaks them out. My kiddo will eat meatballs al day long but won't touch a hamburger.

Good luck....

One of the tricks I use for my little one is...

Take one day out of the week and let him know on that day he gets to pick breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole family.

((Make sure to make this a huge deal))

Then on that day for each meal take out three choices and let him pick which one. Most kids get a huge thrill from this.

i had to learn to give them what they want or they won't eat. my 2 year old son only wants fries, nuggets, pizza, rice, and yogurt. i tried the "your going to eat only what mommy cooks", and i probably would've had a dyfs case on my hands if i would've kept it up
