LOL!!!! I narrate and direct my kids when they pitch them. Normally we all end up laughing. My favorite is when my 6 yr. will slam a door. I come from a family of door slammers. I will go back into her bedroom and "yell" at her not for slamming the door but not slamming it hard enough. I tell her I want the roof to shake. She will give it one more attempt and then bust out laughing. When my 2 year old starts I will tell him he needs more screaming and louder. He needs more tears, etc. Otherwise it is just not believable. LOL!!!!! It has worked every time. They last for a few minutes but then the storm is over and all is peaceful again. I hope this helps and good luck! : ))

I've read up on the internet on different sites about what to do. Up to the age of 3, they can't really understand what's happening. Throwing a tantrum is their way of telling you they can't understand why they can't do or have something. The best way I've heard to deal with tantrums is like Asheleigh said, to ignore it or you can just take them away from the situation causing the tantrum. I had a problem with my daughter opening the fridge all the time and even climbing on furniture. If I raise my voice or give her a smack on the bum, it just made it worse. I just started to take her away, and it really works by showing her something else like toys or tv or any other distraction. Hope this helps and good luck!

LOL my children both pitched these! All i did was let them do it because if they see that their not going to get a reaction out of you then they will eventually stop trust me! If you give them any type of reaction at all then they will contiue to do it! I hope this helps and I know it is hard when your out in public to let them do it and people stare sooo much but letting them do it ha always worked for me!~

Good luck
