How do I teach my child how to be more patient?

the best technique is by example. and to prrovide lots of opportunities where patience is rewarded and being impatient isn't.

for example, after grocery shopping, if your child was patient, say something like, "you did such a good job being patient at the store." and verbally offer a physical reward like candy, or stopping at mcdonalds, or a trip to the park. make sure they know what the special treatment is for, even if your kid is only a year or two old. being told what they're doing right is sometimes enough to encourage them to do the same over again.
