My son is 2 1/2. From time to time he resists me and I tell him, you can do (whatever it is) or you can take a time out. About half of the time he needs to go sit by himself for a few minutes and scream but eventually he realizes its no fun and he better just do what hes asked. If he ever giggles and thinks we aren't serious or gets violent, he gets a spank. So generally hes well behaved (for a 2 year old!).

I would start by trying to figure out why she's so angry. There must be something that triggers her tantrums and there are ways to handle those unwanted behaviors in a loving fashion, but without know your situation it's kind of hard to offer advice. Good luck!

As hard as it sounds you have to ignore the temper completely....but make sure you always say well done or good girl when she does something positive, whether its just saying please or thank-you, make sure you reiterate the point that it was very good to use her manners, things like that!!

Make sure you make her clean up her mess (if she's made any from throwing toys things like that) after she has calmed down and don't let her play with anything until she has picked up the mess!! This will show her that u mean business and u are not going to back down!!

The first few days will be the worst as she will think that if she screams/shouts louder you will pay attention, but you have to ignore it.........and whatever you do don#t shout back!!! She will then think its a competition!

If you feel yourself losing it, then just leave the room and return when you have calmed down. It should take maximum a week and a half for the temper tantrums to subside and be a rare occurrence!!

Hope it helps xx
