It's normal my son does it also but he does understand that this sumthing he does not do around other people. When he does it around me I usually ask him if he needs to use the restroom, if he says no, I ask him why he is grabbing himself, he says he doesn't know n I tell him to let go it's not necessary for him to hold on to it.

I think all little ones go through the stage of discovery of "the private parts". My daughter was doing the same thing except shes two. The only words I could think of were "to be soft with it". It's deffinetly a strange situation because she only done it when we put her to bed at night. She wasn't interested anymore after about a month. She has now moved on to picking her nose....lol.

i think this is very unlikely - this is a stage most children go through at about that age - by all means be vigilant for any behavoir which would cause concern but that is something all parents should be doing i don't think just this alone points to anything more serious.

Mybe you should look further into the situation and make sure shes not doing that because someone else has not done that to her just to be cautious

I'd try ignoring it for awhile she might be associating it with the attention she gets when she does it. But I agree she just learned it's there and there's not much you can do to make her stop, just let her know she shouldn't let peolpe see her bottom, is all you can do.

its normal curiosity most children will discover it at some point but it her body and she is allowed to touch it after all it probably feels quite nice to her. don't get cross just explain that it is a private part of her and she should only touch it when she's alone. i'm sure the novelty will soon wear off.
