How do you put your 2yr old yo bed?

Our daughter turned 2 in July. From about 9-13 months we would put her in her bed After the bedtime routine, turn on some soothing music and she would quiet and happily drift off to sleep. Around 14months we moved into a new house and the first few weeks she was fine then she started screaming so we would calm her down and tell her she needed to go to sleep and she would cry so hard if we left her room she would make herself throw up. So one of us (usually dad b/c im w/ our baby) will lay next to her bed until she falls asleep. Any of your kids do this? What do you do? (she now wakes up throughout the night randomly crying for us to come back in and lay down by her and sometimes wakes to go to the bathroom and is scared b/c she is alone) she wakes more than our 4 month old! Recently she has even been waking up crying in the morning which is so weird and unlike her. I just don't know what to do?

I put a movie on in her room for her to watch while she falls asleep, It works great! Also she might be afraid of the dark, I have a little happy face nightlight that helps with that. Give her some big stuffed animals to sleep with so she doesn't feel alone. My daughter calls her stuffed animals her friends lol, so seems like she feels shes not alone with them. Hope this helped!! good luck!

this sounds pretty much what we went through when we moved aroudn the same age! and we did pretty much what you've been doing. A good trick I learned is to read to him for a while (a long, detailed book like Dr Seuss) and sometimes it actually puts him to sleep! Occasionally we'll let him fall asleep in our bed then move him.
