How to get a girl to figure out what peeing is to start potty training?

My daughter is 22 months old and is definately ready to start potty training as she is constantly undressing and taking her diaper off. Also when I strip her down for her bath she runs away quick to go pee on the floor? I have a potty chair and one the goes on the big potty. Her attention span is short of course so just letting her sit on the chair till she pees isnt working. Once she actually pees I'll make a big deal about it so she knows the game plan. Its just the initial first time to get her to go. Open to suggestions. Thank you.

Quoting Sarah:

have you tried giving her a toy to play with or book to read? This may sound silly but ive also used the potty to show my children that you have to pee in it. but if she really doesnt want to try it yet give her more time she still young you may find that in 2-3 months time she might decide to try it. good luck anyway and be patient.

I've actually done both of these with my youngest (still potty training her).  She would sit on her little potty and scoot it around like a chair.  So, I put the seat on the big toilet, but she got bored with it.  I let her play with my husband's hand held poker game (bad idea as it almost went in the toilet).  But, what finally worked was letting her look at magazines while on the potty.  And, of course, when she does go she gets lots of praise.  The funny thing is that she thinks she has to have something to look at while she's there.  But, as long as she tries, I don't mind.
