I have a 18 month old lil girl, She has been sucking her thumb when she was in my belly, so my question is how can I get her to stop sucking her thumb? Please help!!

Dentist's usually say that its ok for them to do this up until the age of 4 beyond this age is more likely to cause problems with her teeth. Most children will stop on their own, but to help her stop try to engage her in activities where she has to use both hands to try and distract her from putting her thumb in her mouth, especially if she is sucking her thumb from being bored or "zoned-out". If that doesn't there is stuff you can buy to put on her thumb that has a yucky taste if she puts her thumb in her mouth (its like a clear nailpolish). Most thumb sucking is a comfort reaction especially when they are trying to fall asleep at night or wake themselves up during the night, it helps them to relax. Everytime you see her start to put her thumb in her mouth just try and distract her to do something else and hopefully she will break the habit. Good luck.
