Sit him down and talk to him at his level and try to tell him about the dangers in climbing couches and why it is not good. or Time out! put him there for 2 min. because he is 2 every time he does it and it may suck for a while but it works eventually they will listen. they are testing you at this age

My 16 month old started having serious temper tanturms at 11 months at anything close to the word no. It was really scary when I found out I was expecting and she was 13 months. I used to hold her and try to talk to her to prevent her from hurting herself, but had to stop because I was afraid she would cause me to lose the baby.
I read and read, and found a good method of understanding your child. When I say no and it causes a tantrum, I get to her level and tell her, "Mommy knows you are upset that you can not climb on furniture. Mommy loves you and wants you to be happy and SAFE. Can we go and climb on your slide (or other option that is safe and appropriate)?" Tantrums are now really rare as long as we keep to her schedule.

keep calm kids are going to throw fits but what i do is as soon as my son starts i tell him no in a strong tone of voice if he dosent stop then i walk to where he is and tell him no once again and that isnt how he is going to get anything that he wants and i walk away as soon as he sees that the fit isnt gettig him what he wants he stops. well i hope this helps you.
