I have an 18 month old Boy that is very picky about what he eats and would rather just have a bottle!!.. I have tryed to get him off of it but when he sits there and crys for hours cause he is hungry and wont eat anything else I dont know what to do... If you have any suggestions please let me know. I would really like to feed him well and have him sleep through the night for a change!! Oh and if anyone has any good recipes for meals that include veggies that would be amazing. The best would be if I can hide them in it some how!!!.. I know its a lot of questions but I dont really have anyone else to ask. Please help me if you can, anything will help????...

Unfortunately this is a really difficult age, my daughter is 19 months and does the same thing on and off, and all the girls in my mother's group are experiencing the same thing. Don't worry about it. It is a phase, apparently it is all about them having control over what they get to put into their mouth. Have you tried finger foods? letting him pick it up and eat on his own? I make my own nuggets out of chicken breast, breadcrums and parmesan cheese and I let her eat it on her own. She loves chips ( french fries) aswell so I make my own out of potato and sweet potato ( but I par boil them and stick them in the oven not fry them) The other thing I do is make a massive pot of chicken soup with LOADS of veges and chicken all blended together and I freeze it in single portions so when my daughter doesn't want to eat it is quick and nutricious and they can drink it instead of eating at the table, and it is always in the freezer ready to go. There are many websites with toddler recipes, this is one I like to use alot The other thing I do is buy yoghurt and freeze it and call it "icecream" I actually have many recipes for toddlers that contain vegetables so if you would like a few just message me :) As the book toddler taming and my pediatrician say toddlers don't starve themselves when they want to they will eat :)

Have you tried giving him anything like juice in a sippy cup yet? Once they have had a little exposure to it with something in it like juice It's easier to get them off the bottle. I like giving my son the V8 fusion strawberry banana (it's the kind with veggies in as well as fruit but all you taste is the fruit) My son loves it and I delute it with water. I had a lot of trouble with real food when he was about 15 months. The little todler meals (not the preschool ones) by gerber he likes. I often give him frozen raviolies with sauce (give them time to cool ) mac and cheese. and english muffin pizza cut up real small it's messy but he likes it. I hope this helped you.

I know what you are going through. My son is only 13 months but I experienced the same thing. I finally got him to eat by introducing him to mash potatoes. If that doesn't work, try something sweet like the gerber melt away bites. If he's not sleeping through the night and you are still giving him a bottle, add oatmeal cereal to it, That will fill him up and make him sleep. hope it helps.
