My son just turned 3 last week and in the last month i have had a problem with him biting at daycare, mostly on the playground, he bites someone on average 3 times a week. he is a little delayed on his speech and just started speech therapy last week. i dnt know what to do to stop the biting.

well the day care provider needs to deal with this really they need to punish him there and then with time out and then you need to talk to him at night. If you don't get on top of this he will be excluded from day care as the other parents are not going to put up with their child coming home bitten.

At three he does understand what you are saying to him so get down on to his level and tell him that you are very sad to hear that he has bitten so and so today, can you tell me why. Then you talk to him about hurting people and that he wont be able to go to day care any more if he keeps doing it. remind him when he gets out the car for day care that you don't wont to be sad today so no biting. If he does not bite overly praise him if he does have the chat again.
