How to stop an 18 month old from biting?

My son is constantly biting ppl. He does it whether he is mad or just to do it. I have tried spanking him, biting back, hot sauce(he likes that so it didn't work), and i am just so frustrated cuz nothing has worked. Can anyone please help me.

The board book "Teeth are Not for Biting" was helpful for my son. He went through this around the age of two and it turned out he was actually sleep deprived due to enlarged adenoids. As a result he had a low tolerance for frustration/invasion of his personal space. He's since had the adneoids out and the behavior mostly stopped right away, but it did take some redirection to help break the cycle. Short time outs can be helpful; you might try having him put his finger on his mouth and repeat (if he can talk yet) "No bite. Ouch."

My child does the same.. I read an article on it and they said the main thing NOT to do is bite back. Because you are trying to teach your child NOT to bite, but yet you are showing him how to bite by biting him...My daughter only seems to do it though when she is teething or tired! Sometimes when she gives kisses she bites my lip!
