I started at one with my daughter, just when she woke up from nap time and bed time. Until she was 1 1/2, by then we started to take her every half hour and did that for a while. slowly we have lengthened the time to 1-2 hours. Now that she is 2 she is fully day time potty trained and night time we haven't started it yet. Nap time is pretty good, usually she is not even wet after nap time and she will go on the potty then. good luck.

my son was not potty trained until three and a half. He decided to train b/c he wanted to start preschool, lol. one day he just trained himself.

If you see signs and it is a happy adventure go for it...if you want to train to save money, get in day care, forget it until 2-3 years old...some kids train at a year and a half, especially girls...there is no set rule other than it be a positive experience for the both of you...

I agree with Dana. No two kids are the same. Ask any peditrician and they'll tell you don't start trying till 30mos. But some children are just ready sooner, I was, but I think my daughter right on the 30 mo. track. Tell-tell signs they're ready are when they hide to go, they understand whay pee and poo are and when they seem interested in using the potty. good luck to all of us!

I don't think there's any right age but ur son or daughter needs to be showing signs that they're ready?? How old is ur lil' person? My daughter is 17 months and although she sits on her potty and pretends to pee and poop and has even gone a few times by accident in her potty before her bath I still don't feel like she's completely ready! Both my nieces were trained by 18 months and and even sleeping without diapers by 2 years but I find that to be pretty early? What are ur thoughts?
