My daughter is in her car seat and it looks like she is humping the seat belt thing. My daughter is being held and scooting up and down on us...She strattled our dog...but i dont know if she was just playing she is 20 months old... Is any of this going on with your children? I think it just that she wants out of her car seat, and she falls when she is try to get higher while held... and just playing with the dog and i dont feel its a huge issue to take her into the doctors, She is with very few people and of whom i trust... I dont think she was malested... is this just normal?

They ARE human beings and though immature, they do have some sensations and feelings "down there"... so it's possible for them to discover that it feels a certain way... and repeat what feels good.

You can direct gently to what's appropriate and not appropriate as she gets a little older. (like not rubbing on Grampa's leg or something) Then as she's even older, if she's still really into touching herself, you can get into the whole stranger and appropriate touching and privates and such...

p.s. the docs have heard it all, LOL! Not something I'd be afraid of telling the doctor that we are dealing with.

My 3 year old daughter does the same thing. I spoke to her pediatrician about it and she said it's completely normal and not to yell at her for it, they will grow out of it.

Haha, my son is 11 months and does the same thing, he will pull up on something and throw his head back and thrust his pelvis back and forth.. It is so funny to watch but ya I believe they are just playing this is also a common "dance" move of his... They will grow out of it.
