I have 4 kids a 7 yr old girl, 3 1/2 yr old boy, and twins (boy & girl) 1 yrs old. My 3 1/2 yr old boy is not potty trained yet and not even wanting to be. He will be 4 in April and I want to sign him up for preschool in the fall. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about potty training him because my oldest daughter was so easy and I don't have a clue where to start. Please Help!!

my 3yr old son is having a hard time with potty training, too. with my older two sons, i kept a sheet of paper with their name on it, and gave them a sticker every time they had bathroom success. but this hasn't worked for eli. i've started having him wear underwear during the day anyway. when he has an accident, i let him change himself and remind him that he's a big boy now. when he pees in the potty, we all cheer, and if he poops in the potty, i let him call his grammy to brag. good luck with your son!

I ran into the same problem with my 3 1/2 yr. old son, now 4. I talked to the school which allowed him to go in diapers. Being around the other kids who were potty trained helped but in the end I knew that he just wasnt ready. At four I tried again and he did great! He now is potty trained but stills wears a diaper at night. If you can find a preschool that will allow you to bring diapers do that. Everyone kept telling me to force him but you know your kids, when they are ready it will happen. Hope this helps!
