I have a 2 1/2 year old boy who needs a pal around his age to keep up with him on weekends, regularly (playdates). Our location is Emmaus, PA. How can I find one with a mom I might be friends or friend-like with?

If you can just wait it our pretty soon the 9 month old will be old enough to play with him!

I am really new to this and have minimum time since my 2 1/2 yr old has a 9 month old brother.  Any help on the advertising idea would be appreciated!

Good luck, try looking into things that you like to do, I know here (in Moorestown, nj) there is ALOT of community activity and church groups and what not. you can try enrolling him in a gymboree class. I know they have a website but i've seen the stores in the mall and see if anything comes of that, or if there is an indoor playground for small kids in the area, we've got a lot of those too. It's like 5 bucks or so to get in and its a giant play area but because they are age specific if you see you're little guy is playing with someone you can strike up a convo based on the kids. good luck!

hey, i had the exact same problem, id love to playdate with you but i live in UK though lol!

have you tried browsing the communities on here by typing in your location? or even on the internet to find local groups. in the UK we have a group called ''SureStart'' which provides practically free activites for your children where your son can play and you can meet other mums, such as Painting, Gym, Singing and Acting classes, etc.

[i dont know how your systems work in america, but in the uk] you could try looking at your local town hall for ''Mother & Toddler'' groups, as youll always find lots of lovely little tots there for your son to interact with and there will be plenty of mums to socialise with. i went to a mother and baby group which was like a gym class for children aged from birth to 4 years. it was brilliant and even though im shy i met lots of lovely people, and my daughter enjoyed it.

going down to the park if you can regulary is a good place to find mothers, and if you do it regular you might see the same face and get to know them if you let your kids play together.

also in the UK you can enrol a 2yr old to a preschool [or what you might call Kindergarten], in which once you get to know the mothers im sure there will be some who also want playdates for the weekend.

hope some of this helps you.

you could also create a group on Circle of Moms, like i have, where you can meet like-minded people. if you dont know how to i can help you, and with a bit of advertising you may have some luck.
