Quoting Aimee:

yea i have a almost 2 year old and she doesnt like to take naps or go to sleep til like 8 9 at nite gets up around 7 8 in the morning i kno how hard this is but i found that a good bath will help sooth them and get them ready for sleep mode

The bath before bedtime works for me as well.

If your babies are taking several naps through out the day, I suggest maybe cutting it down to one nap...if that doesn't work, shorten the length of their one nap. My 17 month old was taking two to three naps (at grandma's of course) a day and waking in the middle of the night or going nite nite really late. I begged Grandma to only allow her one nap a day, and when she take only one nap...she sleeps the entire night for about 10 hours straight! Good Luck

They have more energy than what is being expended, I think. I say this because I've discovered my 2 1/2 yr old son has more restless nights lately if he hasn't done enough during the day. He is going to bed a bit later than he used to (between 8-8.30), and is napping less (1 - 1 1/2 hrs and never past 4.30pm) as well. I've noticed he's more restless at night if it's been a rainy day and we haven't been outside to play.

Try to work more active play into their day and it should help.

Good luck!

My daughter did this for a long time. Shes 2 1/2 now and a couple times a week is still doing it. I started a routine that I never break. It is bathtime-snack-book-bed at 8pm. They say it does NOT help to let them stay up later because toddlers actually need their ten hours of sleep. Dont skip nap time either, mine takes a nap after lunch whether shes at home or at daycare.use a night light if they say theyre scared and a favorite toy to sleep with. I hope it gets resolved, I know its very frustrating.Good luck to u

When they wake in the night don't go in to them straight away leave them for about ten minutes if you can and see if they drift of to sleep again on their own. This is what we did with our eldest chilod and he sleeps through no trouble and has done since he was 12 months old. We do the later bed time with our daughter and unless she is teething she sleeps through the night and she is only 10 months. Good luck with it. Just remember not to go in too soon if you hear them stir.

my 2 year old just started doing that...i have no idea why and his doctor said that its nothing to be worried about...start putting them to bed later and before they go to bed have them run around and get all their energy out so that they get really really tired. that helps with my son. i found putting my son to bed at 9-930 really works wonders and from 7 to 9 i just have him run around and play off all that energy. he only gets up maybe one night a week now at the most.
