Wait until he's 3. Its easier. I have 4 kids and that has been my experience.

I found an audio seriers that will guarantee potty training success in only three days...wish I would have found it earlier. It took me about 6 months with my son...good luck and here's the link to check it out yourself Click Here!

My son is 27 mos and we started "really" potty training last Monday. Up until then, he would go when we put him ont he potty, but he still wore diapers. On Monday, the diapers went away (except for nap and bedtime)!!! He has done GREAT!!! We have had a few accidents, but not too many. There are some training underwear out there that are a little thicker so they absorb the pee instead of it going all over the floor:) Until they have the sensation of wearing underwear and the feeling of being wet, they will not get the potty idea. Good luck!

Quoting wendi:

Very interesting! I do put him on the potty first thing in the morning and he will go on it but then I stick a diaper on and he goes to daycare. So you think i should try real underwear and see how he handles it? I scared he is going to pee on everything! LOL! what a mess that will be!

Yes, If he willing to do it for u in the morning. I found it a lot easier when we got underwear with spongebob on them. my son's love him. so they hate takin him off if that use the bathroom in them. So found something he is in to & go from there. & as far as mess dont worry it not as bad as it seems. They dont like it no more then we do.

My son peed the first few times..and it frustrated me..but i just told him that he needs to go to the potty chair..and i showed him where that was...and he got the hang of it within a few times...i wouldnt push it as i didnt..just make sure he knows where the potty chair is..and at daycare i would tell them that you want him to be in underwear unless he is taking a nap or something tell him too that hes a big boy wearing big boy underwear and he cannot pee in these, because it will make a big mess.

My son is 2 1/2 i started doing some training when he was 2 and introducing him to the potty and stuff..after a few weeks i started asking him, but asking him was only irritating him and myself, so what i did was put underpants on or nothing on him, and leave the potty chair out...now he goes to the potty and lets me know, one thing i haven't fully learned to do is when i do have a pull up on him, he wont go to the potty? seems intresting..because apparently he knows if he has one on he can go potty in it. night time training i havent started but i dont think that really happens until like 3?
