i have i two year old daughter who refuses to let her bottle go i have tried everthing from getting her sippy cups with dora or princess on it and i have tried rejecting her and she will cry for hours until she gets it back. the hardest part is, is that my one year old is still using a bottle so sometimes if i take the bottle from her she will steal her brothers bottle from him. what is the best way to stop her from wanting a bottle?

If you are worried about her drinking from her brother's, start transitioning HIM off of the bottle. I started giving my kids sippy cups at about 9 months, and took the bottle away completely at 1 year. When he is transitioned, then get rid of ALL of the bottles. The Nuby cups do seem to work best at first since they are rubber tops, so the "feeling" is similar to the bottle nipple. If your little one still needs something when he lies down for sleep, give him a sippy. I think it confuses kids when they can ONLY have a bottle at bed or naptime. My kids are 4 and 3 and they still go to bed with sippy cups.

Oh I so know what your going threw. My son is 2 and I just had my other son 4 months ago.  My 2 year old had a bottle up until 3 months ago, I know it sounds hard and its hard for you but let her have tantrums, just keep reminding he rthats shes a big girl not a baby. In fact let her drink from her brothers bottle if he's still on formula shes not guna like the taste of it at all. My 2 year old cried for 4 days for a bottle and  now he doesnt even ask, even if he see's his brother drinking form it. DONT GIVE IN TO THE CRYING. I know it sounds easier sia dthan done but I promise it will work.

My daughter really likes to imitate us, so we started drinking out of sippy cups and she wanted to then. We did go threw a lot of different kinds before she found one she liked. Now it does not matter. The soft ones seemed to help though. Know it sounds weird but who knows?

Nuby makes a sippy cup that has a soft spout that helps with the transition from bottle to cup. I bought them at Wal Mart. I would suggest buying them for both children. Your one year old can learn to drink from them too. My son drank from them during the day starting at one year old and would only get a bottle before nap time and bed time. If your daughter sees her brother drinking from them perhaps she'll be encouraged to drink from them too. She also won't have a bottle to steal.

I saw that you are from Philly.... I'm in south jersey like 20 minutes away from philly actually. have you tried the gradual sippy cups? I've seen them at Wal-Mart. The Nuby brand makes them, it goes from a bottle to a sippy bottle to a sippy cup. it comes with the 3 different lids. Maybe the sippy flow is too fast for her and she doesn't like it. Just a suggestion. I have seen them in the cinnaminson wal-mart but not in any other ones and I know wal-mart stocks by area. good luck let me know if it helps.
