I feel like I should be doing more for my son. I am a stay at home mom and feel like I need to get him (and me) out there more. I went to story time today and all my 2 year old does is run around while all the other kids listen and interact with everyone else. Granted there are all age groups here but I get so frustrated. I get from pressure from some family members that he isn't talking enough, but I feel he is on track for him and the Dr. said since the range of normal is so big between 2 and 3 not to worry but keep and eye (ear) on it. I don't have a playgroup for him. I started looking into day care for some socailization but can't afford it. I know I am whining but need to get it out. I have a hard time making friends normally but an even harder time since I have been home. I have working friends, who's schedules don't work with mine and I don't see them much. I have no family close by either. I would love to hear any feedback you have and thanks for listening.

Thank you for the info. I have not gotten him on the computer as of yet, it sounds like a great idea.

I know how you feel I was a stay home mom this summer, what worked for me was looking online and books on childlike activities and crafts. You can get this books anywhere they sell books or the library. Have you tried looking for any mommy and me activities around your area! Maybe a sport or art class. I suggest you keep taking your son to story time sometimes exposure is all they need. And the parents there should understand just keep an eye on him and talk to him before you go tell him your going to story time and he needs to listen and if he feels like walking or running he could tell you. It gets better, it does. It also helps if you do your own story telling with him maybe 10-15min. Last idea, you could go teach him how to use computer with your supervision I recommend starfall.com and pbskids.com Good Luck!
