My daughter is going to be 1 within the month and right now this is a list of what she eat and when:
Breakfast: Oatmeal mixed with a fruit, and a handful of cereal (cherrios), and 3 ounces of milk (she won't drink anymore then that) and 3 onces of juices (same problem as milk).
Snack at daycare
Lunch: size 2 veggi and size 2 veggie/meat mix (chicken veggie stew) plus formula/milk (8 oz)
Snack at daycare
Snack at home: 2 cookies and half of a seize 3 fruit
Dinner: size 3 meat/veggi mix (turkey and rice with veggi) and size 3 fruit plus a bottle
I just want to make sure she is eating balanced. I think she is eating enough but I am also not a doctor so I was hoping some other mothers could help me out.

THank-You for all ur advice. I started changing her meal habits last week and now for breakfast and dinner she is eating big ppl food. SHe gets a lil bowl of cherrios or kix like always but now instead of baby food she is getting yogurt mixed with banana slices, pears, or oranges (her fav.) She then gets a lil bit of water/juice/milk. then for dinner i have started cooking her veggies. she eats potatoes, beans, carrots, green beans, peas, etc. i cut them up real small and cook them still they are soft. i tried giving her noodles but they were too fun to play with so she didnt eat much.

Sounds like she is eating fine but you should def. start mixing in some big people food too to get her used to the new textures and stuff. THey can really revolt against the chunks and whatnot if you keep them on pureed babyfood for too long. Still fine to give it to her, just make sure thats not all she eats. And for breakfast I dont know if I'd keep offering milk and juice...i'd probably just pick one and let her drink what she wants. Does she use cups? If she's one she should be coming off the bottle anyways...give her mealtime drinks (at least) in a sippy cup. But if 3 oz is what she drinks thats what she drinks. Sounds like she gets plenty of fluids...don't forget the fruits have lots of water in them too.

Hi, i have been through the ringing with my little one and food so i can offer some suggestions. First and foremost your little one is eating quite a lot for her age, i would think it is time to move off caned food and on to big people food. Start with dinner first, try boiling some fresh veg not to mush but to a soft consistancy, dont mash it leave it cube for little fingers. She will most likely love this and you can prepare the food ahead of time and turn it on when you want to. You need to think about getting her onto something that has a good protein and iron base to it very soon, if you plan on taking her off formula at 1. Iron is the biggest thing you need to watch in little ones, and carbs is the second but her oatmeal and cherrios will cover that to a degree. The thing you need to start her on is mince, both beef and chicken you can ask your butcher to make it a fine grain for you. Do note that it is a more then normal and actually a needed process in a childs life to at some point gag on their food, its all part of the learning process for them and helps their throats prepare for the next step. A great iron and fibre basic is good old baked beans, you could mash these down slightly to beginning with but they will slide down easily enough anyway. My little girl loves her baked beans and they keep her iron in check as she isnt a great meat eater like most kids. For the time being you little one is eating like i said quite large amounts so i wouldnt be to worried. I was told recently that a 4 year old only needs approx a 3rd of what us adults eat in a day, so when you stop and think its not a huge amount for some. Good luck and really think about moving more to big people food soon

Sounds like she is getting enough....By 10 months my son was completely off baby food and eating gerber graduates and table food you could probally start experimenting with more textured foods. Fresh veggies and fruit are so much better than the jarred baby food. Also when my son turned 1 and was started on whole milk our doctor told us we should start giving our son vitamins. You should talk to your doctor at your one year well check. hope this helps

That sounds like a pretty good nutritious day. Is she eating any big people food yet?
