My son is 20 months and has slept through the night since he was 5 1/2 months. but the last 2 weeks has been waking once at around 330. he screams inconsolobly and wont stop unless i sit in the room with him, but then he wont go back to sleep he just lays there making sure that i dont leave the room, if i do he just starts screming again.if i leave him he just keeps screaming for hour or longer, then he wakes again at around 530-600 ready for breakfast i have been bringing him into the bed with my husband and i because its the only way i can get any sort of sleep, i no this isnt the best thing to do but i need some sleep!!!! He hasnt been sick lately, no big changes in home life, and not teething he has all his teeth already( if thats 16)there is no change of behavior during the day and his diet is the same aswell. all the advice i get is related to one of these. Please if anyone else has been through the same thing and found a solution i need your help please...

just console your child contact doctor health visitor etc may have some suggestions , i wouldnt get into bed if he/she been sleeping fine up to now i wouldnt rock the boat ! leave a light on or wee tip use baby monitor and if you hear wakining or there unsettled you can maybe get in quick to keep them calm x

My daughter did this for about a month too. In her case she had separation anxiety and her 2 year molars coming in. We finally ended up letting her cry & scream with out checking on her. Within a couple days she was over it.

My almost 20 mo does the same thing. I don't know what it is...it's like she isn't really awake. I have to wait for her to calm down because she won't let me touch her or console her. Then she goes back to sleep. My daughter sleeps with me, so it's not bad at all!!! You do what you have to do to sleep!! I'm also an AP parent.
