I know it's horrible and I absolutely hate it but my 2 y/o still has to have a bottle at nap and bedtime. I have tried just laying her down without one but all she does is scream for literally an hour, I have tried weaning but she still wakes up screaming for more milk. I only put milk in it (no juice!) but she is almost 2 1/2 and I have had it! I need some help!!!!!

Well hearing your child scream like that can be very stressful and tiresome. But sometimes you just have to let them scream it out. She screams and continues to scream because she know's that eventually she will get what she wants. Because that is what has happened so far it sounds like. You get sick of hearing her scream for the bottle so you just give it to her.Try giving her something to drink before nap or bed but not putting her down with it. She probably will scream but just check on her periodically and if she's fine then let her cry it out. Put some head phone's on listen to some calming music. You may have a couple rough day's but she will be okay and as stressful as it may seem you will be okay too. You have to be strong dont give in! :)

Well I have tried the taking it away or just NOT giving it to her she screams for up to an hour...The nubby or soft nipple sippy cups just don't cut it either....the thought of having a "funeral" type thing and taking them out with her and diggin a hole and putting them in there has even crossed my mind since a friend did that with her daughters binkies.....I am just at a loss for words....We had her off them when she came down with hand foot and mouth but then my husband (who works nights) didn't realize and gave her one....

Get the nubby cups with the soft nipple and cup tops its a 3in1 cup that is how i got my girly off the bottle. They are wonderful. You can get them at walmart in all differant colors

Give her a sippy cup instead.....they still want the comfort of a drink at bedtime.
