Help! We've moved our 3yr old son from the cot to bed over the weekend & it is not going well at all, he keeps coming out of the bed & I keep putting him back in there, I'm trying not to interact with him too much, but he is using every excuse known to man, I'm thirsty, I'm hungry, I'm not tired & last night was the best! He had monsters in his room!! Arrrggghhh!! I told him monsters aren't real & his reply is yes they are mum!! What should I do...

Do I just keep putting him back in the bed & walking out of the room & eventually he'll get it??? Or is there something else I should be doing??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-)

I think you are doing a great job by the sounds of it. Just keep in mined that we all can't be so lucky to have supernanny at our door right lol. Just keep putting him in his bed as many times as it takes and make sure he has everything thing he needs or will want at least 10 minutes before bed so it will minimize what excuces he can use. I can tell you it took me almost two weeks to get my youngest son to stay in his bed, but finally he gave in. It was stressful. well I can tell you what worked for me about the monsters in the room,my oldest came to me and said oh mommy i can't go to bed theres monsters in my room and i have for kids so they all started in on it(at the time my kids ages were 2,3,4,and5) , so I told them yes you are right there are montsers in your room and I am looking at them right now and they started to giggle and say no. So I took them in the bath room and let them look in the mirror and I told them they are the monsters and I have never heard them say there are monters in my room again. It worked for me but it may not be something that will work for you. But I do wish the best of luck.
