I ask him every 5-10 minutes if he has to pee on the potty, and we put him on the toilet when he gives an iffy answer and sometimes he will go but recently he keeps peeing his pants instead What do I do??? same with Pooping, he always goes in his underwear he refuses to poop in the potty :S

I'm potty training my 3 yr old now and what worked for me was doing it over a weekend that I had nothing going on. I moved his little potty to a towel in the living room in front of the tv and I sat him every 10 min whether he had to go or not. It made it easier to catch him using it and my kid was simple, he was just excited to get a sticker on the calendar each time he went. He loved filling up the squares with stickers.

It's easier if you take potty training in steps. Focus on just getting him to pee on it during the day (don't worry about naptimes or bedtimes). Don't even worry about the pooping yet.

Once you get him comfortable with peeing then add the next phase. I think doing it in smaller steps will keep him from getting overwhelmed and it lowers your frustration when he has an accident.

He will get there!

i just trained my 3 1/2 year old son.. they are tough.. I used reward stickers for staying dry through out the day and gave him 1 m&m when he went on the potty.. reward system seemed to be the only thing to do the trick.. someone recommended that i go to the dollar store and fill up a bucket full of little treats.. my son went for the m&m over any little toy.. but whatever works.. it has to be an immediate reward. I would keep m&m jar in the bathroom on a high shelf. At first i also kept the little potty right next to his play area.. until he was mastering the self initiation thing.. now i give him 1 m&m only when he self initiates. hope this helps.
