kids need dicipline from the moment they start playing up, how else will they know whats right and wrong, they need to be told, my sons 17 months and hes very clever he knows when hes being naughty and if he still carries on i tell him off, but when hes at his dads no one diciplines him and he comes back and really plays me up! so that just proves my point really lol he needs to be told whats right and wrong xx

hey, iv got a 4yr old and a 1yr old, i disipline both of my kids if they are naughty. i think its not bad as if they dont know their boundries by 18months old then you will have bigger problems when they are older, dont smack or yell, just when they are doing something wrong, tell them no in a stern voice and move them away from what ever it is they are doing and ignore them when they cry for a few minutes. Hope this helps. it works for my 1yr old and he knows what he is and isnt alowed to do, haha even though he does still push his boundries haha

yeah I don't know about the word discipline on a 19 month old I would do more redirecting and talking. Children at all ages in love, encouragement, mentoring, guidance i don't believe in the word discipline. Love is more appropriate.
