Is it normal at 19 mos. to have no interest in playing by yourself?

Should I be concerned? Are there activities/ books something I can do to encourage independence? The only thing she'll do on her own is watch tv, and I hate that! She only wants to play with whatever another child is playing with and if I tell her to play by herself, she will just sit there. For over 30 minutes if I let her, just staring. It's scary.

She is social and wants to play with others that is good. She is learning to be assertive although right now it is a bit aggressive she is going after what she wants. She will learn. To get her to do some things by herself you might need to create some games like throw the ball or the toys in the laundry basket...maybe she would like to organize and line up things...play in the bathtub...draw a picture...maybe she is thinking...is she angry when she is staring? if you think something is wrong you can take her to the doctor or call the nurse...good luck
